How to choose

A badge records an activity, not just a visit
In Treadline, simply arriving at a landmark is not enough. Record a qualifying loop and capture the territory around its marked location. The badge stays in your collection after ownership of the territory changes.
Icons are famous landmarks around the world. City places include urban landmarks; Local places include parks, gardens, lakes, viewpoints and peaks. The website lists released Icons and City places. Find Local places on the app's map.
Plan around the place, then check the ground
Choose a landmark from the catalogue and read its earning rule. Where an audited foot loop is available, the landmark page offers an approximate distance and GPX download. Many landmarks do not have a published route suggestion.
A mapped suggestion is not proof of current public access. A landmark can have barriers, opening times or a marked earn point that needs a wider loop. Any qualifying loop can earn the badge; you do not have to follow the supplied suggestion.
