How to choose
We consider destination choice, route length and the kind of memory or progress a walk leaves. None of these options replaces checking current access or finding suitable navigation.

Plan one loop, not an entire itinerary
Search a city, country or landmark in the free loop finder. Filter existing suggestions by distance and download the GPX where available. The suggestions come from audited routes already published in Treadline's catalogue; the tool does not generate a new route for every search.
Treadline landmarks are earned by recording a qualifying running or walking loop that captures their marked location. Merely checking in, taking a picture or passing the landmark will not earn a badge.
Leave room for real travel
Use your own pace in the time calculator, then add time for museums, queues, crossings and rests. A moving-time estimate is not a promise about elapsed time.
Review the route before leaving: entrances, opening hours and street conditions can change. The website does not require geolocation, an account or a map subscription. The Treadline recording app runs on iPhone and Android.
