How to import Strava, Garmin and Apple Health activities into Treadline

Treadline can import existing Strava or Garmin activity exports as a ZIP selected through Files, or scan Apple Health for runs and walks. This brings in activity history; it does not create continuous syncing with your Strava or Garmin account.

This guide is published by Treadline, one of the apps discussed. No app paid for placement. Sources and copy reviewed ; features, access and purchase options can change.

How to choose

The steps below use Treadline’s released import support and the providers’ official export guidance. Keep your original archive and check the imported results before making changes to your old account.

Choose the source of the activities

Use a Strava or Garmin export when that service holds the activities you want to bring over. Use Apple Health when the relevant runs or walks are already saved there, including workouts recorded with a watch.

A GPX suggestion for a future outing is not the same as an archive of past activities. Start with the account or Health history containing your completed runs and walks.

Request and keep the original export

Strava’s official bulk-export instructions direct you to its website account settings and the Download your account request. The archive arrives through a download link; allow time for it to be prepared. Use the official guide for the current steps.

Garmin offers personal-data export through its account data-management tools. Follow Garmin’s official guidance and keep the downloaded original archive. Avoid renaming a different file type to .zip; the extension alone does not make it a compatible activity export.

Select the archive or scan Health in Treadline

Make the exported ZIP available in Files on your iPhone. In Treadline’s import screen, choose the exported ZIP under Files. For activities already in Apple Health, use the Health scan and grant the permissions required for the data you want to import.

Review the result in Treadline rather than assuming every item has identical fields across services. An export cannot add coordinates or sensor readings that the original activity did not contain. Retain the source copy if you need to compare a route or date.

Understand what importing changes

This is an import of existing activities. It does not promise future Strava or Garmin activities will arrive automatically or continuous account linking. File import is on iPhone; Treadline records on iPhone and Android.

Choose one source for an initial check, inspect the imported activity and keep your originals. Account deletion is a separate decision and is not required to try Treadline. Current import support is described in the FAQ.
