Pikmin Bloom alternatives: walking games with different rewards
Try Treadline for real landmark badges from recorded walking loops, Run An Empire for map strategy, or Zombies, Run! for an audio adventure. Keep Pikmin Bloom if growing companions and a step-based collection are what you enjoy. Choose the reward that fits your usual walk, then compare the free-access limits.
This guide is published by Treadline, one of the apps discussed. No app paid for placement. Sources and copy reviewed ; features, access and purchase options can change.
How to choose
Compare companions, real places, strategy and stories. Check whether you want step-based progress or a recorded outing, whether your normal route fits the goal, and which content or purchases are optional. These are different approaches to walking motivation, not identical replacements for Pikmin characters or events.
Compare the motivation
| App | What it suits | Cost and limits |
|---|---|---|
| Treadline | Real landmark badges from qualifying loops on iPhone. | Recording, territory and badges free; Pro optional. |
| Pikmin Bloom | Grow companions from steps, collect Decor Pikmin and plant flowers on walks. | Free-to-play; coins and items are available through the shop. |
| Run An Empire | Enter or encircle map hexes during a recorded outing, then develop an empire. | Free-to-play on iPhone and Android; supports walking, running and wheelchair rides. |
| Zombies, Run! | Walk, jog or run through an audio adventure and gather supplies for a base. | Free download with weekly free episode unlocks; a subscription opens the full experience. |
Stay with Pikmin Bloom for a companion collection
Pikmin Bloom combines walking with growing companions, collecting Decor Pikmin and planting flowers. If those characters and step-based progress are the reason you open it, another app’s landmark or strategy systems may not replace that appeal.
It is free-to-play, with shop purchases for coins and items. Compare the purchases you actually want rather than treating a free download as a promise that everything is included.
Try Treadline when a real place is the reward
Treadline’s collection represents real landmarks. A qualifying run or walk must capture territory enclosing a landmark’s marked location to earn its badge. Merely visiting or passing it does not count, and the badge stays yours after competitive territory changes hands.
Recording, territory and landmark badges are free, with optional Pro extras. Recording uses the iPhone or Android app. Inspect an existing loop in the free web finder before travelling; a mapped suggestion does not guarantee access or a badge award.
Try Run An Empire when you want strategy
Run An Empire connects a tracked outing to hex capture and building an empire. Its official FAQ says a hex can be captured by entering or encircling it while recording, and supports walking as well as running and wheelchair rides.
That makes it a useful option when choosing land and developing a strategy game is more appealing than collecting companions. It is free-to-play; check the current in-app offer before spending.
Try Zombies, Run! when the next story is the goal
Zombies, Run! plays an audio adventure while you walk, jog or run, with supplies gathered for a base. Choose it if listening to the next episode is the motivation you want during an ordinary outing.
Its FAQ describes weekly free episode unlocks and a subscription for full access. Try the free story format first and check the current content offer; it is a different reward from collecting characters or enclosing a landmark.
Match the choice to a walk you already take
For a familiar out-and-back walk, a step collection or audio story may fit naturally. For a Treadline landmark goal, plan a qualifying enclosing route around the marked point. If you want strategy between walks, start with the empire-building option.
Use one normal outing to judge the appeal. For a landmark loop, allow time for stops and the journey to its start, and check access yourself. You can keep an existing walking routine while deciding whether a different reward is worth returning to.
